There are quite a few things that we have learned need to happen BEFORE we ignite the Driver’s rental period with an EV from our sweet Tesla fleet. Hindsight is always 20/20 which is why this list will change and morph accordingly, but for the time being, consider this checklist a non-negotiable. All items must be completed no later than 24 hours prior to the start time of the booking.
☐ Car is available in the Host garage
☐ The license plate number and picture of valid registration are in the Host dashboard
☐ Confirm pickup time/location with the Driver and Host (if we don’t have possession of the car)
☐ Confirm final price with the Host and update in Host dashboard
☐ Before meeting, make sure drop off location is set and accurate (default should be The Marlowe)
☐ Confirm that the car is "listed" in host dashboard.
☐ Before meeting, ensure driver has fully onboarded with Zevo and Tesla app, usually via SMS
Steps for Driver:
☐ Download/register with Zevo app
☐ Pass all verification steps in Zevo (Zevo to approve in Persona)
☐ Set up payment method in Zevo. Important to remind them that we need to collect the first week’s payment upfront and the first time we prompt for payment method creation is while initiating the booking.
☐ Download/register with Tesla app (Zevo to remind them to use the same email that is registered with Zevo)
Steps for Zevo:
☐ Send an introductory text to the Host/Driver connecting them for future communications
Meetup:
☐ Upon arrival of the Driver, Zevo takes inventory intake video (30-60 second video of the car’s current condition at the time of handoff)
☐ The videos are stored here —> Inventory In-take Footage
☐ Have the Driver start the booking with Zevo
☐ Internal automation kicks off the generation of that rental’s insurance card, now available in the Host dashboard
☐ Receive payment confirmation of first week’s rate
☐ Perform a final check of the following:
☐ Booking has officially started
☐ Insurance is correct and in the hands of the Driver
☐ Driver has Tesla access to car
☐ Review TOS that require Driver signature (see TOS Signature doc HERE)
☐ Answer any questions from Driver (see Driver FAQ doc HERE)
☐ Smile, shake hands, and Driver leaves
