LAX Placard Requirements for Uber Drivers
Overview
All Uber drivers must obtain and display an LAX placard to legally pick up and drop off passengers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This requirement is mandated by airport regulations and helps airport officials identify authorized rideshare vehicles.
How to Obtain an LAX Placard
- Pass the LAX Quiz: All drivers must first pass the LAX quiz to be eligible for a placard. This quiz tests your knowledge of airport regulations and procedures.
- Complete the Application Form: Fill out the LAX Placard request form at: LAX Placard Request Form
- Pick Up Your Placard: Visit an Uber Greenlight Hub location to obtain your physical placard. Bring proper identification. You can also have it mailed to you as well - both options will be presented at the end of the quiz.
Display Requirements
The LAX placard must be displayed beneath the front Uber trade dress (decal) on your front passenger windshield. Both the trade dress and placard must be visible at all times while on airport property.
Important Information
- TCP Drivers (Uber Black) are not eligible to use the standard placard request form and must visit lawa.org for information on getting their vehicles permitted for airport access.
- Failure to display a proper LAX placard may result in citations, fines of at least $200, or restrictions from airport trips.
- If you need a replacement placard, you can use the same form to request one.
Additional Airport Requirements
Remember that in addition to the placard, you must also follow all LAX regulations regarding pickup and dropoff locations, staging areas, and driver conduct while on airport property.
